Brave Jiu-Jitsu closely adheres to the standards of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) with a few exceptions to accommodate our Brave BJJ Tournament Model. 

Listed below the main differences.

✅ 2 Matches Guaranteed

These are the type of brackets we use for our tournaments: 

- Best 2 of 3

When 2 competitors are in a bracket.  

- Round-Robin

When 3 competitors are in a bracket. - Tiebreaker 1:  Number of Wins by Submission

- Tiebreaker 2: Shortest Total Fight Time
- Tiebreaker 3: Sum of All Match Points
- Double Elimination with Bronze Match

When 4 or more competitors are in a bracket.

✅ No Advantages & Penalties

✅ 2 Overtimes

In case of a tie during the regular match time.

Maximum of  2 (two)  x 2-Minute  - First To Score Point Wins

Also known as "Golden Score" Overtime.

WE WILL NOT USE THE "ADVANTAGE" SCORING SYSTEM

To score points, competitors must complete the proper technique, demonstrate control and dominance, and be free from any submission holds!
